Faculty and museum curators were invited to choose and interpret portraits from the permanent collection of the Snite Museum. This publication includes reproductions of the selected objects with the accompanying essay. In addition to the uncropped portrait, smaller, more detailed images were highlighted in an attempt to bring the viewer psychologically closer to the subject being described and interpreted.
