The quality of design of The Juggler was given little consideration in the late 1990s. While the University of Notre Dame's student-organized art and literature magazine had strong content (poetry, prose, and images of art), the form in which it was presented was sub-standard. Now, each issue is created by a team of graphic design majors under the direction of a senior-level student who serves as the art director. The magazine has won multiple awards for design from the Indiana Collegiate Press Association in recent years, including "Best Design" and "Magazine of the Year."
