On the 25th anniversary of the first publication Jintian ("Today") in China, the University of Notre Dame held a three-day conference in honor of Bei Dao. A world-renowned poet, Bei Dao is the founding editor of the pro-democracy underground literary journal still published in China. Clarity of information was critical and traditional Chinese aesthetics were referenced by the poster's color palette and proportion.
